Education and Professional Journey

I, Naitik Chotai, was born in 1983 in Porbandar, a coastal city in Gujarat known for its historic significance and bustling trade. Growing up in a middle-class family, I was the son of a dedicated businessman who ran a wholesale grocery store. My father's business was a pillar of our family, and as a child, I quickly came to understand the values of hard work, discipline, and resilience through watching him. This early exposure to business became an important foundation for my own journey.

From a young age, I began helping my father in his business, where I developed a strong sense of responsibility and learned the fundamentals of managing a business. Even as a child, I took great pride in helping at the store, learning firsthand about inventory, customer relationships, and even handling finances. By the time I was 10, I was deeply involved in the business after school hours, which not only helped our family but also gave me practical skills that most kids my age didn’t have. This experience instilled in me a lifelong respect for business and a strong desire to make something of my own someday.

While I was heavily involved in the family business, I was equally drawn to the world of science and engineering. This curiosity drove me to excel in school, particularly in subjects like math, science, and technology. I was fascinated by how things worked and constantly wanted to learn more. Although my father valued my help in his business, he also recognized my potential in academics. He encouraged me to pursue engineering on the condition that I achieved strong results, as he wanted me to have the option of either a secure a very good job or joining the family business.

Education and Professional Journey

Driven by this promise, I secured an admission to C U Shah College of Engineering & Technology in Surendranagar, where I pursued a degree in Biomedical and Instrumentation Engineering. These were transformative years that opened my mind to the practical applications of science. My studies gave me a new perspective on technology, and I was increasingly drawn to the fields of engineering and automation. My hard work and dedication paid off, as I achieved good results and further honed my practical skills.

After completing my degree, I continued my academic journey with a postgraduate degree in Applied Instrumentation from L D College of Engineering in Ahmedabad. By this time, I was not only technically skilled but also deeply passionate about making a meaningful impact through engineering. My strong academic record and technical expertise landed me a prestigious position as a Post Graduate Engineering Trainee at Larsen & Toubro (L&T), one of India’s top engineering firms, in 2007.

My time at L&T was incredibly valuable, both professionally and personally. I started at L&T’s Vadodara office, working on automation and control systems for thermal power plants. My role required me to work across multiple engineering disciplines, including mechanical, civil, and electrical, which broadened my knowledge and sharpened my analytical and problem-solving abilities. Over the years, I gained more responsibilities, eventually leading complex projects that required meticulous planning, precise execution, and cross-disciplinary expertise.
